Top Tips to get fit in 2017

It’s approaching a new year and you really want to unleash your fitness fanatic self (it’s in there somewhere! 😁) Here are some motivational tips to get you started. So let’s have it…goodbye gut- hello butt 😉

Make a killer playlist full of motivational music

Having some motivational music to keep you pumped is essential.

Get a Workout Buddy

Sherlock has Watson, Batman has Robin, Scobby has Shaggy, Peanut butter has jelly and macaroni has cheese. Having a partner can make all the difference.

It’s so easy to make plans to workout… but just as easy to cancel those plans for something more appealing (e.g pretty much anything that DOESN’T involve moving😬😬 ).  But “having a reliable workout buddy increases your chances of sticking with your program,” says Elizabeth Lombardo, PhD, MS, PT, psychologist. It’s much harder to bail on your friend who’s counting on you.

When looking for a work out buddy make sure you have compatible schedule and similar goals. You also want someone positive that will motivate you.  A workout partner “can play the role of teammate, co-coach and cheerleader — all while working out,” says Michelle P. Maidenberg, PhD, MPH, clinical director of Westchester Group Works in Harrison, N.Y.

Plus working out with a friend can be fun- have a good natter and giggle whilst you’re at it  😊.

Personal trainers can be pricey but are always beneficial if you want to get into shape and change your lifestyle. They are trained in the field of training, nutrition and health and will create personalized workouts based on what you want to achieve.

Plus you will be naturally more committed if you’re investing money in it. 👊
